Church trails for children encourage them to engage with the architecture, history and furnishings of these important buildings.  There are many other places of worship, stately homes and buildings of historic interest for which children's trails could also be made, and work is currently being done to set this up.  The trails consist of a question sheet, aimed at 8-12 year olds, that guides children and accompanying adults, and an answer sheet which gives the answers for the children but also fuller information for adults.  This is a relatively new branch of the volunteering activities undertaken by our members and so far only two trails have been completed in the Edinburgh area: St Peters, Lutton Place and Holy Trinity in Haddington.  We are working on a trail for St John the Evangelist in Princes Street and hope to complete it by the end of the year.

If you are intersted in becoming involved in Children's Trails, please contact Membership of The Arts Society, or an affiliated society is required for all volunteers and please note that we cannot guarantee that every volunteer will be accepted for any particular project.
