Who We Are

The Arts Society, formerly NADFAS, was founded in 1968 by Patricia Fay as an arts-based charity and has over 90,000 members in 385 local Societies in the UK and overseas. All Societies subscribe to the aims of the advancement of arts education and appreciation and the preservation of our artistic heritage for the benefit of the public.

These aims are achieved through a programme of lectures on the decorative and fine arts in the widest sense, study days, visits, and tours and through volunteering activities, carried out by Church Recorders, Church Trails, Heritage Volunteers and Young Arts groups.

Events

Flyers for EDFAS events are mailed to members in one of five or six mailings during the session. To reduce costs, wherever possible mailings are by email. Please ensure your Membership Secretary, Afternoon or Evening, or the Webmaster, has your email address, or knows you wish to opt out of email communications.

To apply for an event, please be sure to enclose your cheque and a stamped addressed envelope, a separate cheque and SAE for each event please, even though you are applying to the same event organiser. Please also be sure to mark your envelope EDFAS. Generally, applications are opened at random about two weeks after the mailing date.

Events are normally reserved for members, either exclusively or preferentially. Where guests may be included, the flyer will indicate this.
